West Stow

About a month ago (I'm always behind in this blog) Matt said he had a surprise for us and he'd planned what we'd do that day. I was super excited and totally stumped as to what it could be since he said it would only take 15 minutes to get there. We start driving and as we get closer to this location I'm still at a loss as to what it could be. Finally we see a sign that says, The first Anglo-Saxon village - West Stow.

It was really cool! This little site had a replica of the village, an exhibit and a small museum with various artifacts that were found locally. They also had a few people dressed up with different things to tell us about. One man even spoke and wrote olde English with a quill pen and in calligraphy (definitely thought of Cassie). Another man had a display of old shields and helmets. Matt was very interested in that display but the man took a break before we had a chance to speak to him about it.

Some piggies in their little farm area.

This house was partially underground.

Matt pretending to be a Saxon king.

Standing by the sunken house.
Ty who did amazing on this day and deserved a gold star, however mommy deserves an epic fail since he had an accident and peed all over his clothes and I forgot to pack a change of clothes. :(

cool door latch.

standing by the door latch. We couldn't get over how thick the thatch on the thatched roofs were.

Inside one of the huts, can you imagine sleeping on a wood floor every night only with a pelt of some animal to cover you?

Inside the same cabin, their fire pit.

One of the cool shields and 2 helmets. Matt was in heaven. :) He also mentioned that he wanted to start collecting old helmets. :(

Inside another cabin.

Where they'd hang their pots to cook the food.
What I love about being married to Matt is no matter where we go or what we do we always have fun. What I love about Ty is that no matter where we go or what we do he always makes it into an adventure. :) I love my little family, life is good!

All About Ty

Our little man has changed so much since we have been here in England! He stands (with help), sits on his own, has started giggling, drools bucket loads, smiles ALL the time, gives kisses, loves story time, he babbles, can roll over, eats his feet, eats rice cereal and has eaten bananas and sweet potatoes,  is very opinionated and is very patient with mommy when I take lots of pictures and videos. Here are a few (alright, a lot) of pictures and videos of Ty Ty. By the way, his favorite thing to do is to watch videos of himself. :)

He loves his shades!

Mr. Cool

Eating rice cereal for the first time!! Yumm! our plan was to wait till he was six months old, but the fact that he was so intrigued by us eating in front of him sparked some questions. He would just watch every bite go from the plate into your mouth. we did a little research and sure enough he had all the signs of a baby ready for solids! He loves it and now he is eating more than just rice cereal as you will see later in the blog.

He is such a Mommy's boy! Daddy always says: "once you're not the only one that can feed him, it's not even gonna be a contest!" Daddy's boy all the way he claims!

He seems to like the Mariners, obviously he hasn't been watching their games lately.

Goofy face! It is getting so fun how he can take his Binky in and out of his mouth. Well mostly out of his mouth, but he has gotten pretty good at putting it back in on his own.

He loves his photo shoots!

He really is such a happy boy! Wide eyes and all!!!!
Here is our cutie hanging out in the spot i sometimes put him during mommy's shower time. He is soooo good he just hangs out, kicks his legs and is as happy as can be. Such a good baby!

This is one of my favorite pics of him! I think it really shows his obvious joy of life in this world.  Sometimes it just amazes us how wonderful he really is. What an amazing gift from our Father in Heaven, he really is so special. We didn't do anything but take this pic and we only took one! He is so photogenic!!!!!

Apparently the flash was scary.

That's better no flash. He loves bath time! His lashes are sooo long!

Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match!

Myspace photo.

We had to try it on him he made the funniest face wouldn't you agree?

His activity walker. Sometimes this is the only thing that will keep him entertained, or rather keep us sane!

Here is a picture of Ty looking bored out of his mind on our trip to London! We rode the tube and he met all kinds of people. When i say he met people it literally was him meeting people and not us. They only talked to us to get his name and how old he was. He really his a cutie isn't he?

Here is Ty hanging out while we explored the Anglo Saxon village nearby. It was sooo cool to see all the different artifacts and buildings they lived in. Quite a cool adventure and just minutes away from our house!! You know it really is something to think about all the things that we are going to see here. What an amazing opportunity this is for us to live here in England. Just think our little man will have been more traveled than a good number of people much older then him, he probably already has.

I may have already posted this one before but... we just plain love it!!!

Ty and his little friend Mickey!

They really have become the cutest little pals! He sleeps with him every night. Now all we need is Gracie here, to show Mickey how it's really done!
Some of the latest info about Ty is that we have been trying to get him to sleep on his own and it has been a tough go around. It is so hard to listen to your child cry out to you and not immediately jump up and run in there. People have so many different opinions about this subject I know. But any way you look at it, it is hard. You are either up all night trying to get him to fall asleep or barely sleeping every night cause you have no room on your bed and you're worried he will roll off. I wish this was easier but the last few nights we have had some success in what we like the to call: "The Crib Wars"
We were pretending to part the Red Sea! Guess who little Ty Ty was!

His first forward stroller ride! SOOOO much fun! He just plain loves it! (so did all the onlookers walking by)

He is already excited to go! Cant wait to take him there! summer of 2013 anyone?

I just had to try this one out! Matt is protesting this pic! (by the way this is Gracie's hat)

Check out these videos of Ty:
This first video was so funny we thought! Definitely America's Funniest Home video worthy. This one was from quite a while ago and it happened in our temporary housing on base when i was not even there.

This next video is another one of our favorites! This was a little while ago as well... when he first started to laugh! Man did he ever loose it in this video. He laughs like this all the time now. We just love our little man!

This next one is another giggle fest! We were at the store and i started playing peek a boo, with him while daddy got it on the cam. Very fun!!!!

This next one is of munchkin man watching one of his new baby genius videos. It was so cute he sat on the floor all by himself and watched the 30 minute video. He toppled over a few times, but daddy caught him but he really seems to love his videos!

This one is of Ty's first baby food experiences. I was so excited to feed him real food that I bought like 20 packages of baby food. EXPENSIVE!!!  I let Matt choose what food to feed Ty first and of course he chose the sweetest fruit. Ty LOVED the bananas (go figure). Stay tuned for take two of bananas, you're in for a good laugh!

This is one of Ty watching himself! We find it hilarious how he loves it so much. He has been doing this since he was 3 months old.

Bananas take two. So glad we got this on tape. Get ready to laugh.

If you thought this was just too much of Ty don't worry, it wasn't written for you. This is dedicated to the grandmas who are too far away.
